Hi! I’m Cara. I’m a lawyer, a mom of 3 and a personal development fan. People are always saying, “I don’t know how you do it all,” to which I will usually reply, “My kids eat a lot of peanut butter and jelly and the laundry doesn’t get done,” but that’s not true. I don’t give myself enough credit and I wanted a place to organize all of the information that I’ve accumulated and to bring some joy to other moms, whether they are lawyer, working or stay at home.
My law firm is amazing. It has made me who I am over the past 12 years and I could not be more thankful for the people there and the opportunities I’ve had there. I love coming to work every day to help achieve justice for others and to work with the great team that we have built there.
My family is also amazing. For about 8 years, from October 2012 to December 2020, I spent all but 2.5 years either growing or feeding a human with my body. Our boys are now 7 and 4 and our girl is 1. It has been the most incredible experience to watch them grow.
My life is also pretty amazing. I am constantly listening to podcasts, reading books, signing up for courses, reaching out to successful people and googling things so that I can be the best lawyer, mom and human that I can be.
And I want to share all of that with you.
In the law, when you go into a deposition, you spend hours for what really amounts to minutes of actual testimony that you will end up using. Think of me as your lawyer going into that deposition for you. I’ll put in the hours so you can get the actually relevant stuff in minutes.
My goal in this adventure is to encourage other lawyer moms to stay in the practice of law. It is to encourage other working moms to enjoy working and being a mom. It is to help every mom, no matter what your choice is, have the resources to be the best they can be.
